1. Valorization of Wood /non Wood /Agricultural By-products Biomass – Developing sustainable materials from Wood /non Wood /Agricultural By-products/waste/natural fibers through methods like fibrillation, foaming, and molding, to produce thermal insulation panels, molded pulp packaging, and high-performance nanofibrils.
2. Lightweight Foamed Insulation Materials – Innovating ultra-light foamed panels using oil palm trunk/natural fibers with eco-friendly surfactants to drastically reduce energy consumption in buildings.
3. Nanocellulose / Nanomaterials from Wood /non Wood /Agricultural By-products fibers – Isolating cellulose nanofibrils from Wood /non Wood /Agricultural By-products fibers, understanding delignification effects, and characterizing nanomaterial performance.
4. Bio-based Wood Adhesives & Composites – Exploring environmentally friendly starch-based or lignin-derived adhesives, natural impregnations, and treatments to improve properties of fast-growing woods.
